Lights out shooting grants Pirates a sectional ticket

Incredible defense and lights out shooting put the Pirates en route for a Sectionals showdown against the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings after a dominating 99-68 win against the Brown Deer Falcons. Pewaukee started the game scorching hot going on a 21-9 run against the Falcons in the first three and a half minutes of the game, lighting it up from the 3 point line, getting to the basket with ease and not allowing a single open shot.

Sophomore Milan Momcilovic led the way for the Pirates with 26 points followed up by a huge game from A.J. Hintz who scored 20. Even Freshman Nick Janowski was having his way out there. He ended the game with 19 points.

For the Falcons, Senior Forward John Lovelace and Senior Small Forward Jeremiah Dotson carried the load both dropping 14 points, and also a light 10 piece from Senior Guard Mark Wade.

With around 10 minutes left in the second half, the Pirates weren’t letting go. They rallied to a 38 point lead while taking away any hopes Brown Deer had at a Sectional appearance. Pewaukee displayed their immense capabilities to shoot the ball from deep.

Even when the Pirates had the game in the bag, they never took their foot off the pedal. Senior Gabe Robinson checked in with about 2 minutes left and went on to hit a three pointer, Junior Nathan Schroeder did the same thing. Everyone was getting buckets.

It was a statement game for the Pirates as they looked to move onto Sectionals. Now they have their eyes set on a possible state tournament appearance. The Pewaukee Pirates are set to play the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings this Saturday at Pewaukee Highschool 7:00 pm who the Pirates are 2-0 against this season.
