With summer fast approaching, many are brainstorming how to fill the precious, yet fleeting three months. When thinking of fun activities to do in the summer, many struggle and end up with summertime boredom: the worst type of boredom. But there’s no need to contemplate this issue anymore! There are a plethora of lively events in your very own community. Here are some activities to get you started…

Have you been in need of a fun summer experience? Come visit the Waukesha County Fair! The fair is located on the Waukesha fairgrounds. The event runs from July 18-22. There are an abundance of fun activities to do. At this event, they host the Fairest of the Fair, Demolition Derby, Classic Car show, bands and many other exciting activities. Come down and join in on these once in a lifetime experiences.

Come down to Pewaukee Lake and join your neighbors at the 22nd annual Pewaukee Beach Party! The event starts on Friday, June 15th at 5 pm and lasts until Saturday at 11 pm. Free admission and parking is provided along with food and beverages available all day and night. The food selection includes hamburgers, brats and a Dickey’s pulled pork dinner. Some highlights include a demonstration given by the PHS Robotics Team, live performances by Alter Ego and The Ricochettes, an all you can eat Pancake Breakfast and a Pewaukee Lake Water Ski performance. The event has “summer” written all over it, so be sure to stop by.

Many people have had a hard time deciding how to spend their Friday nights, but because of Friday Night Live, that’s not a struggle any more. The event is located on W Main St., Waukesha and is every Friday night from June to August. “It’s a great way to enjoy the local musicians and restaurants in the area,” said Tammy Pham, resident of Waukesha. Friday Night Live is an event where local bands play their music for others to enjoy.

A Midwest tradition, the Wisconsin State Fair is a must-see this summer. You’ll find practically every food fried and on a stick that you could ever dream of. And don’t forget the famous cream puff. If you’re a thrill seeker, be sure to stop at spin-city to experience gut-wrenching rides like Zero Gravity and Drop and Twist. With performances from Foreigner, TLC and Reba McEntire, the fairground should be filled with music and fun until the doors are closed.
